Headwraps: A Very Brief History
Never has there existed a symbol so suited to capture our beauty, femininity, and resilience than the headwrap. It's protected our hair from the elements, signaled our status in society, and was even used to communicate messages during the Diaspora. Known as Dukus in Ghana, Doeks in South Africa, Geles in Nigeria, and Headwraps in North America, wraps continue a storied tradition. Today we rock our wraps unapologetically, from the boardroom to the bedroom, because we are who we are - Queens.
